India’s largest private sector lender HDFC Bank was launched on Friday “Shaurya KGC Card” aiming to serve armed forces.
Unveiling the new product via the virtual platform, HDFC Bank Managing Director (MD) and Managing Director (CEO) Aditya Puri said it is a one-of-a-kind product designed specifically for the armed forces.
“With that, we have a product that is as good for the brothers in the armed forces as it is for the farmers. This is our Independence Day gift to our protectors. Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Hind, ”Puri said.
The lender’s new product comes with new features and eligibility criteria specifically designed for more than 45 million people in India’s armed forces, the bank said.
The product is based on the Kisan credit card government directives. It will benefit families in the armed forces engaged in agricultural activities, the lender said.
The new Shaurya KGC card will finance agricultural needs such as crop production, post-harvest maintenance and consumption needs. Armed forces personnel can also avail of this funding to purchase agricultural machinery, irrigation equipment or build storage structures etc.
