Oel-Pool AG takes over BP’s network in Switzerland
This will make the Aargau-based company the largest gas station operator in Switzerland.
Oel-Pool AG and its gas station subsidiary, Moveri AG, have signed an agreement to take over BP’s retail network and supply chain in Switzerland.
Moveri, which already operates more than 330 service stations under the Ruedi Rüssel and Miniprix, will now control BP’s 200 sites in the Alpine country. The BP brand will also be retained, according to a statement.
“On the one hand, BP is an established brand in the market with many conveniently located service stations. On the other hand, the new situation allows us synergies in the purchase of products and in a better use of the storage yards ”, explains Ramon Werner, CEO.
With the Ruedi Rüssel and Miniprix brands, Oel-Pool AG and Moveri normally compete in the lower price range of fuels.
“The fuel market in Switzerland is in decline. Therefore, the mergers with the resulting synergies are the logical consequence. With this merger, a strong financial position and a dynamic corporate culture, our company is very well positioned and also has sufficient resources to shape the future. of the Swiss energy market and to invest in new CO2-free energies, ”continues Ramon Werner.
Oel-Pool AG plans to develop synthetic fuels in a joint venture with technology developer Swiss Liquid Future. The first products are due to be presented in 2024, Bernerzeitung reports.
