Applications for relief grants are still open for small businesses

Small businesses looking for help with a pandemic can still apply for relief funding under the second round of the Abilene Community Foundation’s COVID-19 Small Business Relief Grants Program. The CFA awarded more than $ 342,000 in the first round of the program.

Funded by grants to the City of Abilene from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, grants ranging from $ 2,500 to $ 50,000 will be awarded to eligible businesses that have lost revenue due to the pandemic.

Applicant companies must be based in Abilene, have a gross income of less than $ 750,000 in 2020 and show a loss of income from the previous year. Additionally, the business owner and / or at least one employee should be considered low to moderate income as per HUD guidelines.

Applications will be accepted until June 30 and applicants will be notified of the awards by July 30.
