Use your credit card instead of saving for projects

In an interview with Narcity, Iermieri revealed that you should never be using your credit card for big expenses for which you have no money.

Often times, impulse purchases can cause credit card users to lose control over their budgets. Instead, you should always save for those big projects and pay them off with that money.

“First of all, use their credit cards instead of saving for a project. Sometimes we often see that for impulse buying, ‘Well I can just put it on my card for now. , I’m going to have it, why wait until I have the money saved for it? ‘”she said.

“But that’s how you lose control of your budget. Because it just said you have an extra payment at the end of the month, because you have to make payments on your credit cards.”

“It’s not there to buy what you want to buy and you’ll save for it later,” concluded Iermieri.

Make your late credit card payments

Another mistake that credit card holders often make is making late payments. Iermieri reveals that even if you only pay a small minimum payment to your card, it is still very important to do so on time.

Otherwise, it can lead to poor credit scores and even difficulty obtaining larger credits afterwards.

“Sometimes people pay their credit cards late or they don’t put in the minimum payment and say ‘it’s such a small amount, I’m just going to add it to my next payment’,” she revealed. at Narcity.

“But by doing that, if you don’t repay your minimum monthly payment, it’s a late charge, which also affects your credit score and will affect when you want to apply for additional credit later.”

Pay only minimum payments

While it’s important to make your minimum payments on time, Iermieri reveals that credit card users should always pay more if they can.

In fact, if you keep paying only the minimum payments all the time, it can be difficult for you to ever be able to pay off the debt you have accumulated.

“You cannot continue to pay the minimum on your credit card because with the interest rates you are being charged, you will never pay it off.”
