Free COVID clinic in Oakland closes unexpectedly – CBS San Francisco

OAKLAND (CBS SF) – A nonprofit health clinic that provided free COVID-19 vaccines and tests to walk-in patients at Frank Ogawa Plaza in Oakland unexpectedly closed on Wednesday due to ‘a shortage of personnel and vaccines.
The city of Oakland announced that the clinic, which the Covid Clinic company began operating in the downtown area, began on September 15 and was scheduled to operate until the end of the year.

“The city of Oakland is extremely disappointed that it was unable to fulfill its agreement to extend services until the end of December, as previously announced,” city officials said in a statement.

The Clinic is reaching out to patients who have registered for an appointment from December 8 to the end of the year. A clinic similar to Fruitvale will remain open seven days a week.
