Aston Villa make loan request in Liverpool match index

Aston Villa have recalled youngster Jake Walker from his loan spell at Alvechurch FC.
The 20-year-old right-back joined Southern League side Premier Central in October but is now back at Villa after Dean Smith side requested the early termination of its loan.
An update from Alvechurch on social media confirmed: “Jake has been a pleasure to work with and absolutely classy for us. We wish him well on his return to the Villans.”

It comes after Villa has confirmed a string of coronavirus cases ahead of Friday’s FA Cup third round tie against Liverpool.
It was confirmed on Thursday “a large number” of positive tests were returned among Villa players and staff among two rounds of testing this week.
Villa’s Bodymoor Heath training ground has been closed and first-team training has been cancelled.
The FA confirmed Thursday evening that a the decision on the continuation of the match will be made on Friday after a series of additional tests.
Villa must make a formal request to the Professional Gaming Council if they are unable to field a team.
Villa may be forced to play against their Under-23s who have continued to train separately from the first-team squad. Earlier today it is understood that Smith and his coaches had developed a plan to do so if necessary.
Walker played twice in Premier League 2 for Villa’s Under-23s this season before leaving on loan and also featured in an EFL Trophy loss to Fleetwood Town for the Under-21s.
